There are many 3D Printing Services today. Literally hundreds. The reason for that Variation is because 3D Printing is a broad industry with many technologies and methodologies working to create offerings. And this includes Twist 3D printing. But what do these 3D Printing Services offer and what is the best 3D Printing service for your project. We hope to add a little clarity there by highlighting a few of the distinct services. Twist 3D Printing - Fast and Simple PrototypingTwist was created to simplify the process for designers that are just looking to "have a part 3D Printed." We use high resolution FDM 3D Printing to quickly produce a good quality 3D Printed part within 1-2 days. Other services focus on the process much more. Allowing settings, finishes, and colors to be selected by the user. But very often these choices just create extra work for the client. Why not just print the part well. So that is what we do. We print all of our parts with Clean Black PETG, so that they part can be functional and presentable. And we used a 0.2mm resolution in order to give is a very presentable surface finish. Our motto is "Any print you want, as long as it is black." We focus on making our prints better for everyone without adding a bunch of options and variation that just introduce complexity into the prototyping process. Forecast 3D - Multijet FusionForecast 3D was one of the early adopters of HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D Printing. They are now one of the largest MJF service providers in the world with over 25 machines opearing nearly 24/7. Multijet fusion is a good process for performance parts, and even final products. But it is limited to just nylon materials that are gray or died black. But the surface finish is quote good. In order to order a piece from forecast you will need to submit your parts for quoting. Depending on the process and quantity their system will either auto-quote the order and send it to an account manager that will complete the quote for you. Lead time from Forecast is generally between 1-2 weeks depending on the type and quantity of a part. Carbon 3D - Resin 3D PrintingCarbon 3D is actually a machine manufacturer, but they will connect you with partners in their network that use their machines to produce parts. Resin 3D Printing by far has the best surface finish of any other process. But it is limited in color and can have along lead time due to the post processing. It will also depend on the service provider that you are connected with by Carbon. As far as functionality, Resin has many variations. You can print rubber-like materials, fire-proof, and several others. Resin is also the closes approximation to injection molding that you can get. But it is expensive. Resin is most expensive 3D Printing process short of Metal printing. Slant 3D - High Volume 3D PrintingSlant 3D operates the largest 3D Printing farms in the world. Their Print Farm Beta will have over 800 3D Printers operating when it is complete. Slant 3D focuses on large volume production of 3D Printed part as final products. They use the FDM process so it is best if the design is optimized for that means of manufacture. On a per part basis Slant 3D is often comparable to injection molding. And therefore much less expensive than most 3D Printing services. As far as materials Slant 3D can accomodate nearly any plastic that currently exists. But they commonly use PETG, PLA, TPU's and Nylon. Other 3D Printing ServicesMost other service blend together. Combining options for processes and colors. But Below is a list of them so that you can compare pricing and customer service options.
